Obsession.

Please tell me why I am in dire need of a fur vest. Would I even wear one if I went out and bought one? I don't know, maybe it was the one episode i watched of the Rachel Zoe Project that made me obsessed with having a fur vest. They are so cute, but so trendy. Plus, I live in Las Vegas. While I am slowly learning it does actually get cold here, (or maybe my resistance to the cold has lessened since living here) would a fur vest really be a smart purchase? It is kind of extravagant so wearing it to work is out of the question. But, we do have the good ol' strip here which is the epitome of extravagance so I could wear it there. Ah! Please talk me in or out of this cute vest from modcloth.com where only two are remaining so I can stop obsessing!

For Free.

Thanks to Jason's job and him making people happy, people tend to give him things as a thank you. This weekend he scored free tickets to the America's Got Talent show down on the strip, second row. So, we called up our friends Derek and Casie to go with us. It wasn't the best show, but it was still really fun. Afterwords we went out to Burger Bar at Mandalay Bay, which was delicious, and then spent a hour browsing Urban Outfitters. I love how everything on the strip is open late. All and all a great night!

Anniversary.

We had a great time celebrating our anniversary, though we celebrated a week late. We spent the night at the M resort, had a view of the strip, comfortable, great restaurants, if really was so much fun.

One year and a couple of days ago this happened...

Thanks Jason for an amazing first year! I love you!

Brother.

My little brother is coming to town to visit me on Saturday for the BYU vs. UNLV game. I haven't seen him since Christmas so I'm beyond excited. I'm sure pictures will coming after this event filled weekend!

Thank Goodness.

Sunny

Feels Like

Above is the current weather here in Vegas (per weather.com). I'm sitting inside at work and I think this is the first time since moving here I wish I was outside reading a book. Take that all you Missourians who have been bragging of your perfect weather. Yes, it may be the same temperature there, but I bet you don't have 7% humidity and another three months of this. I think I might finally get used to this place!

The Leather Jacket

Question: Should I buy a leather jacket? They are making a comeback and I’m trying to decide if I should jump on the bandwagon or just stay clear of it. Currently one of our favorite things to do is to watch Las Vegas reruns on TBS. The character Sam wore this hot but still classy leather jacket in one of the episodes and I can’t stop thinking about it and how I want one. I know my last couple of posts have been on fashion but I need some input. To buy a leather jacket or to not buy a leather jacket, that is the question…

Fall.

Okay, living in Vegas I have become confused on when the seasons change. I knew moving here there aren't regular seasons. But, I'm talking clothing seasons. Question: Can I still wear white since it's still 100 degrees at the end of September, or do I just switch over to darker colored clothing? I have always been extremely picky on the whole no white after labor day rule, but, is that rule different here? Do I need to buy dark summer clothes so that I have something to wear in September and October? I'm lost. But, in the mean time I have been doing some fall shopping at Anthro wishing that it really was cool outside and that the leaves on the trees are turning and there is a campfire smell in the crisp air. Fall is one of my favorite seasons and I'm a little disappointed to not have one here. So, can someone please come here, plant a bunch of trees with different colored leaves, plant an apple orchard, and bring cool weather so I have a reason to buy and wear these cute finds? That would be great, thanks!

Shorts.

Thank you Jcrew for providing me with these precious shorts for $11.00. It is the end of summer everywhere else, but her we've got a couple more months so these kinds of purchases are still necessary!

Accident.

On Friday I got a phone call because I had been listed as an emergency contact on Jason's work contact list. I had never received a phone call like this before. Jason was in an accident on Friday so we've had a lit of drama this weekend. He was at work sitting at a stoplight in his Directv van when he saw a white car going 60mph down the off ramp of the 215. He realized they weren't stopping so he tensed up, slammed on his break and waited for impact. The white car ran into the car behind him which slammed into him. Jason was lucky enough then to be whisked away in an ambulance, brought to the hospital and checked out. Luckily, he is fine other than some soreness in his back. We'll see after tomorrow when he has a physical if anything is seriously wrong with his back. In the mean time, take a look at the pictures he took of the scene of the accident...

Love this.

My amazing friend Paige posted this on her blog and I thought I should post it too. Not only do I love the animation, I also love this song. It makes me want to sit outside and listen to the rain fall while reflecting on life.

San Francisco

Last weekend, Jason's sister planned a girls trip to San Francisco for the girls in the older girls in the family. We were only there for a weekend, but it was still amazing. I had never been there before and enjoyed every second of the cool weather and picturesque streets and buildings. I'm pretty sure I want to live there. We spent our time at fisherman's wharf, ghirardelli square, golden gate park and bridge, on the trolley, clam chowder, hotdogs in the park, and shopping at precious little stores. It really was a great time. Thanks Megan for organizing it!

Bella.

This precious Shih Tzu was ours for one day. As much as I hate dogs, I did love this little girl. We kept it for one day between owners and it was one heck of a little adventure. As much as I loved her, I realized I am definitely not ready for the responsibility of another life...other than Jasons.

Treats.

My mom is so great. Someone from the home was heading out to Vegas so my mom sent a tin of treats with her. We have been eating them for every meal since Tuesday. Thanks Mom!

Mt. Charleston

To get away from the horrible 110 degree heat, we decided to go hiking up in Mt. Charleston. It's nice to know that only 40 minutes away is a forest oasis with temperatures around 80 and the smell of pine in the air. It was great to get away for a couple of hours!

Really?

Okay, these three boys were Jillian's final three on The Bachelorette. She made the mistake of getting rid of Reid and then goes on and makes the mistake of getting rid of perfect Kiptyn. Then when she has the chance to take Reid back she goes for the dorky, boring guy named Ed whose shirt is too short for him and who left her half way through the show. I'm sorry, but her and Reid were meant to be together. He was just too precious for her I guess. I know its her life, but I have been living her life for the past 3 months and feel like I should have had a say. What a let down.

7.28.2009

Rain

Last week was the first week of clouds and rain that we have had since we moved here. The clouds were great because they cooled us down from 110 to 98. Seriously big difference. I sat outside watching the rain pounding down, it was great. I just keep telling myself this horrible heat will be over soon and then I get beautiful weather! But, until then, I will continue to pray for clouds and rain.

The Proposal

So, Jason surprisingly decided to take me to see The Proposal last weekend! I couldn't believe it, not only did I enjoy it, but so did he. It was one of those romantic comedies that doesn't really have romance till the very end but has the comedy throughout. Seriously, we laughed throughout the whole movie. Definitely worth the money, though I still can't believe that it cost me and Jason $21.00 for one movie here. What is this world coming to? Worth it though, I highly recommend it!

We Love Boating

Thank goodness for Jason's Dad and his boat. We had so much fun yesterday tubing, wakeboarding, and water skiing (some of us just attempting to wakeboard). The water at Lake Mead was perfect for a 112 degree day. Oh and I was terrified on the tube if you couldn't tell by my face.

Catching up...

Alright, now I really am going to start blogging once again. Here are some pictures from a while ago and from recently.

I graduated...

I visited the tulip festival...

My dad and brother came to visit...

I went back up to Utah to visit for the fourth...

Me and Jason are busy! Jason is working for DirectTV and I am finishing my internship at a hospital down here and hoping someone will hire me when I am done! All is well other than the heat!

Entering Vegas

So, here is the picture I took while driving into Vegas. It is really smoggy so you can't really see much. But, hey, thats a pretty good picture considering I was driving. Also, I'm not very fond of driving 5 hours alone. Its really boring. Graduation is still to come...I promise.

5.13.2009

Update

Okay, so I just wanted to let everyone know me and Jason are safe in sound in the wonderful city of Las Vegas. After finals, then graduation, then packing we were pretty exhausted. Jason has some job possibilities and I have some internship offers so we'll see how everything goes. Once I figure out why my computer isn't letting me load pictures onto the blog, I will post graduation and the move!

I'm Done!!!

Wow, I don't know how I did it, but I finally made it through college! I turned my last paper in last night and a rush of relief flew over me! Though, this set of finals wasn't too bad. Our VW presentation turned out amazing thanks to no sleep the night before and finishing the project 10 minutes before presentations started. After presenting to the CMO of VW and some amazing people from Crispin, Porter + Bogusky they decided that our idea was the best and treated us to lunch at Chef's Table. What an experience. Seriously, a perfect end to my college career. I'm excited to be done, but I really will miss that group because they became part of my family for the semester. Great job guys! I also took my last test on Saturday so that was an exciting experience. Now let the graduation festivities begin!

14 days...

till we will be living here!

A little overwhelming, but incredibly exciting!
